Types of tests

The scope of the construction testing laboratory at VN Engineering Ltd. includes:

determination of physical and mechanical properties of rock materials and construction soils, concrete mixture and hardened concrete, construction solutions, asphalt mixtures and laid asphalt layers
adhesion test of torcrete concrete, tile adhesives and waterproofing
establishing the thickness, location and concrete covering of reinforcement in existing concrete elements

Field measurements allow the following to be performed::

bearing capacity and deformation properties of the earth base by circular plate
degree of compaction of embankment layers by means of a cutting ring or sand replacement
California Bearing Ratio (CBR) determined on site
concrete mix characteristics at the time of placement (consistency, density, placement temperature, etc.)
irregularity and deflection of asphalt pavements
strength characteristics and thickness of sprayed concrete
adhesion of waterproofing and repair materials to the substrate

Laboratory tests include:

determination of strength characteristics, deformation characteristics and water tightness of hardened concrete
full range of tests necessary for the qualification of construction soils and rock materials used in embankments, concrete and asphalt mixtures
thickness, density and deformation characteristics of asphalt layers
pore and binder content in asphalt mixtures
strength characteristics and adhesion properties of mortars

Non-destructive testing of existing elements includes:

verification of the strength characteristics of concrete
identification of existing reinforcement in concrete and its characteristics
assessment of the corrosion potential of embedded reinforcement
measurement of the thickness of non-magnetic coatings on metal elements (firеproof paints, primers, etc.)
measurement of the surface moisture of concrete elements
